Re: Bill Gilpin - a 'wee' bit more
Like you I was deeply shocked to learn of the passing of my dear friend Bill, he was godfather to my daughter and my friend since I was at Holyrood, many a weekend was spent huddled in sleeping bags playing a game called Emlyn Hughes on the old sinclair machine until the dawn, then getting up to dig ditches. My daughter like myself are struggling to come to terms only recently were we down visiting.
I hope no-one will object to me starting a new thread ...
In one of our conversations Bill said he'd been interviewed on 'local radio' and sent me the URL of the recording. I'm afraid I didn't get down to listening to it until Sunday and not in its entirety -because it two hours long.
It is worth a listen - because it brings out what a wonderful guy Bill was, and what we've lost.
Bill Gilpin - Superstar
(I hope people can 'pick this up' - it works in the depths of Lincolnshire anyway.
Bill also spoke to the local historical society - this is worth a read Bill on modelling
I've been asked if we know anything about a funeral - I understand the answer is 'No' - obviously a post-mortem has to take place and I think that this has yet to be carried out. Dreadful things to have to write on a MB like this.
