I did know this, but helpful to remind folks...you may recall that you corrected me on the trawler bow on my conversion of the Neptun D to Conrad.
BTW, do you know if there is any truth to the claim that the original Neptun Zulu (the "alt" version) was based on a Framburg casting?
Concerning the Framburg 1/1200 and 1/500 models, the "Dragon" and her two other sisters in the first trio of "D" class had the "straight" forward deck, therefore the "Dragon" model actually reflects the five later "D"s with the trawler bow. Another example of this is the Framburg "Roberts" class monitor reflects the later ship of the class, "Abercrombie" with the raised deck houses for the twin 4-in. gun battery. The Framburg "L" class DD with the elongated aft deckhouse identifies the model and the destroyer leaders of the "L" and "M" classes. I'm not sure how many newbies know this, so I thought I'd mention it.
For the record, it is a heavily modified Framburg casting....
Sumatra and Dragon were what I intended. And the connection is indeed use in the Mulberry Harbor. The original model shown is Dragon, with changes to create Diomede. Any idea who the maker is?
I think Sumatra and either Dragon or Durban.
Both were scuttled to form the Mulberry Harbor off Normandy, 1944
