The correct spelling is LURLINE
The name dates back to the 1870s, and a yacht owned by Claus Spreckles, the West Coast sugar king. William Matson was the vesselís captain. He and Spreckels became partners in the Matson shipping line, and Matson named his daughter Lurline. Several ships were named Lurline before the most famous one entered service in 1933.
Also worth noting is that a major overhaul of Britanis by Chandris Lines in 1986 "included parts from her sister Ellinis" (ex orig. Luriline). Wikipedia. Thus the modernized later model is of a ship that includes parts from the other ship modeled later modernized but modeled in its original state.
