"CLASSIC AIRSHIPS 1250"
Posted by Derek Harrington on 11/27/2019, 8:51 pm
|This is my brand new range
of unpainted 1:1250 scale airship models produced on HP MultiJet Fusion (MJF) printers. The process used makes the PA12 nylon material tougher than on SLS counterparts (eg "Versatile Plastic"/"Strong and Flexible") and this allows for finer detail to be produced with a better surface finish. The result is miniatures that are perfect for war gaming, dioramas and desktop models. Perhaps the biggest advantage though, is with the cost and I am able to offer these models at prices 20% and more below my existing SLS versions - for example an L48 Class, Zeppelin U-Type is now just $10.95 (11.40€). This makes them truly collectable and of course, 3D printing to order means that I can offer a bigger range than is possible through any other production method. To this end I will be offering every single type of Zeppelin that Germany operated during WW1 and I will follow that with Schûtte-Lanz types as well. So all of those endless variations of control car and engine car design and position, and the different envelope and fin configurations will all be taken care of - there will not be a real-life engagement during the war that you will not be able to model faithfully!
The "CLASSIC AIRSHIPS 1250"
range is only available from my WEBSITE
and the models are then shipped direct to each customer in no-nonsense packaging from the Sculpteo factory near Paris. There is a single shipping charge per order ( eg $6.75 for UPS 2 day service to the States.) My range of waterslide DECALS
includes two 1:1250 scale sheets (CA001
) that between them cover every Naval Zeppelin used during WW1. Happy modelling everyone.
Here are a couple of photos of models coming up in the range. In my next post I will give details of the first 18 models available now...
