Boy, that was fast. Thanks Matt. It is a misengraved R103, not R403. If I had done a search on Alnavco's page and clicked on the photos of their Russian BBS, I would have found it. But that does not explain the mismarking the wrong number on the underside of the hull.
That much of the mystery will remain.
I am in the middle of a project rearranging some of my shelves of models and updating my shelf lists and I found an interesting ship next to 2 models from different makers of the Sovietsky Soyus. Although it resemble the Soyus, it is different as the secondaries are different and the AA is greatly increased. It is clearly marked as a Superior and bears the number "R 403" and "BB 24". However, it CLEARLY is not the CURRENT Superior R 403. It looks somewhat like a Janes speculation sketch from post war, before the sketch of the missile armed BB, but the match is not exact. Any help in identifying it would be appreciated. Sorry, no photos as I have yet to replace photobucket for web photo hosting. Thanks.
