Re: USS Yorktown II
Yat Fung Shea--
The radio antennae are made from 0.04" square plastic strip. I simply used a razor blade to trim one end to a rough point and then a few strokes with a sanding stick and they were ready. Length is 0.41". The "trick" is cutting with the razor blade. Good luck.
How do you scratch build the vertical antennae on the side? Do you have surplus for which I can buy from you?? Thanks for any advice!
I think I've gone crazy. Two USN aircraft carriers in a row. And both loaded with 40mm and 20mm. Last one was the Enterprise late war; this time it is the Yorktown II late war, which had 17 @ 40mm quads plus a ton of 20mm. And one of those wild camouflage schemes. I've got to go for something "simple" for my next project. Photos follow. Also on my website in the USA WW2 A/C carriers gallery, last page of same.
