The next update for Sammelhafen is out! This is the first update in a long time that has some updates to the website itself (the code). Since more and more producers are directly sending me photos of their new models it was time that I added the preview picture to the "latest models" section and the front page part of it. You can now also click directly on a producer on the main page to get all of their lists in one go directly.
I've also had to increase the number of the latest model list to 350 just to be able to show all new releases since I last added them. It was indeed quite some time since I last managed to update that part. Should I have missed any, please give me a note. In total we have more than 600 new models listed thanks to Martin's "Gesamtliste" (complete list) of which he uploaded version 5 last week to the "Münchner Rundbrief" messageboard. Quite a few are additions to the Hansa-Conrad list, the rest is split onto 17 new producers I have added:
Great Lakes Models
Grand Fleet Miniatures
Orzel Model ships
As always many errors were corrected. We're also in the process of overhauling the typing of sailing ships. So expect a few being wrongly typed at the moment.
I've added "only" about 200 pictures this time, but you can expect a bigger picture update in the late autumn or winter.
The next update will likely not bring any new content, but changes to the structure of the website to fix some issues with language selection and search machine ranking. Currently all search machine crawlers only see the english version of the website. Therefore the the rating for German searches is very low. I also need to update to a new version of the programming language. I'm hoping it won't be too terrible, but we shall see.
There's 2 things that didn't make it in this update. I'm aware that the Oceanic listings are quite incomplete and I've been sent lists from at least 3 different parties. So that's pretty high on the ToDo list. Also Llyn is making new models. I have a list of all the planned models, but I'd like to narrow it down to those which are done or are soon to be done before I add them.
Last but certainly not least I would like to thank all those who use the "report error" function or sent me e-mails or show interest in other ways in the website. Your help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
