Below are some photos of my latest model, USS Enterprise CV-6, as she appeared (I hope) some time in early 1945. I worked from four reference works with which I am sure you are all familiar, plus the 1/700 scale Trumpeter kit #06708 for basic dimensions and shapes. My goal was to produce an accurate model of Enterprise as she appeared in 1945. What I found in my research into photos and plans was that this ship must have been "in the shop for mods" for many periods during WW2. There are scads of photos to peruse, but, especially late war, each shows unique details that are NOT visible/discernable on any other photo of the late war period. So it was "take yer choice and go fer it". I'm sure that you will be able to find details that are not on photos you have or are different shapes.
Paint was Ms. 21; flight deck was a custom mix, as were the [very] light gray stripes fore and aft. Deck lines were taken from the Trumpeter kit, sectioned, and tortuously applied. Deck number 6s were taken from a decal sheet of USN carrier deck numbers and reduced to a size that fit Enterprise's deck dimensions with clever cutting with a razor blade! Have fun with the photos!
