Bassett Lowke was making models for decades before this film was made, so yes, they could be BL. As for scale, I also think that they are 1:1200, as this scale was used by the British for ID models during WW I.
Are these BL models - or is it too early for them? Also, what scale might they have been - 1/1200 or 1/600? They look like 1/1200 to me from the 'detail' on them.
Thanks for posting this. It appears that this film was made in 1935-36, based upon comments by the narrator regarding planned ships to start in 1937.
The models are consistent with photos and drawings of these ships in Weyers 1936, Les Flottes De Combat 1936, and Jane's 1936, although in Jane's there is a drawing of NAGATO as reconstructed during 1934-36 with the single funnel. Jane's states that this "revised" drawing first appears in this edition.
Note also that HIEI is not included as she had been reduced to a training ship under the terms of the Washington Treaty.
Nagato is seriously off.... (or at least the intel was very dated)
