Re: I had thought I made clear that you were not on your deathbed
David, I was merely repeating the oft quoted statement by Mark Twain made to a reporter after an erroneous obituary was published. Simply meant it as a bit of humor.
And that we are heartily glad for your continued good health. I did not mean to start any rumors. Take care, my friend.
Like the poor bloke in the famous Monty Python skit, “I’m not dead yet. I feel fine.”
But seriously, unlike Facebook, this site has a domain which can be continued by anyone willing to pay the annual cost to maintain it. While I do not have anyone who has offered to be my successor, my son Ian, who provides my tech support, but is not a collector, has full access and can maintain the site until someone interested can take over.
Thanks for your best wishes, and thanks to everyone who has supported this site, now in its 22nd year.
No one enjoys contemplating one's death, and I think Paul has done a great job with this board and site, and the community owes him a large debt of thanks. However, in light of the chaos Thad's death caused on his site (yes I know Facebook rules are different from private sites like this), have you chosen a successor to carry on your work? I would hate to lose this site, as I think it is invaluable to the hobby. Just a thought. You don't need to name names now, just an assurance that it will continue in the future.
I personally wish that the time is long postponed!
