You're right, Loren. If they are going down that road with the girl, everyone should be included. This isn't a rational reaction. And what about the other animals in the zoo? Most of the ones I have seen usually has them all together in one pen. So if one animal was infected then they all possibly could be. I should point out while we are discussing the facts that rabies shots are no longer agonizing. The old shots required a high voluum of inoculum. Hence the pain. For some time now they have been not any worse than a flu shot- although you do need a series to speed up the building of antibodies. It is only because the rabies virus progresses slowly up the nerves that it is possible to get an effective immunity in time to prevent disease. I was very upset at the program "House" some time ago when they had that Foreman needed rabies treatment and they were playing the same ancient horror story of how painful they were and he was getting them in the stomach. Wrong! Wrong! Wrong! They missed a chance to educate.
