I have been to this petting soo. It is only about 25 miles from my place. I was just wondering the other day if he still has zebras. As for being bitten, it doesn't surprise me at all. Even a horse could bite a finger of a child's hand and not even realize it. However, it did sound like the zebra wasn't real anxious to turn loose of the "food" once he got it in his mouth.
As far as the rabies part is concerned, seems to me like it is like a lot of our other "crises" today. I think I would take my chances and wait out the ten day incubation period for the zebra. Not that the wait would make treatment better if rabies was actually present, but the chances seem so small as to make the prevention not worth the agony. And they might want to consider this. If I am not mistaken, if you had an animal with rabies licking all over your hand, rabies shots would be highly recommended. So I wonder if the parents and everybody else who was licked that day are undergoing shots?
