Sorry to kinda spring that one on you. Over the last month, we have been incredibly busy with the zebras. This one is a zebra that we have in for training/consignment. He is a very willing and extremely gentle 12 year old gelding. We hadn't posted anything yet because we weren't quite ready to advertise, but he is a part of a major project in the works. We are holding a zebra training clinic in November and will be able to offer hands-on riding and driving zebras for participants to try out. This zebra will be up for auction on the last day of the clinic. Of course, Charlie will be there for the driving portion of the clinic.
We are working on our website, http://zebraguru.com/ but we don't have a whole lot on it yet. We will be posting our videos, clinic information, photos and training tips on the site.
One of the best aspects of the upcoming clinic is that participants will be able to bring their own zebras or zebra hybrids. It should be very fun! We are still working out some details, but we will have a color brochure to mail out to anyone interested very soon and of course, we will post more information here.
The tack we are using on this zebra is a western saddle and a bridle with a snaffle bit. Originally, the tack that they sent with him was a combination mechanical hackamore with a chain bit. I believe this to be way too harsh for him and stepped back to a snaffle and a more simple setup. He is working beautifully with it so far.
