I have actually seen our zebras do what you described, but they did it more when they were younger. I am not sure if you would call "cute" what sticks in my mind as to how ours act when they come in heat. The first time one of ours did, my wife thought she was dying! She rushed in the house to get me because "something is wrong with one of the zebras." For those of you with males, you won't get to "enjoy" this experience. The tail goes straight out. The head and neck go straight out with the head held low towards the ground. The mouth is open with the tongue out while chewing and drooling. I guess the only part I understand is the drooling! Oh the anticipation!
