The Animal Planet's topic this a.m. was the Grevy Zebra. It stated that they are in danger of extinction primarily due to loss of habitat and that there are only 5,000 left in the wild. This video, however, was dated 2001. It would be interesting to learn what the current numbers are...8 years later.
