None taken, Sammi Jo, however, I have and always will maintain that PRIOR to actually acquiring a zebra, or any exotic for that matter, the responsible course of action is to find a qualified, hopefully experienced vet, who agrees to oversee that exotic.
People who 'put the cart before the horse' (so to speak) are oftentimes the ones whose animals end up in serious trouble. For example, I know of an instance where a zebra became sick, the vet couldn't help and the people had to haul the ailing animal many miles to a couple hospitals before finding one that would accept its care. Ultimately the animal didn't make it...and that's where I'm coming from. During a crisis is not the time to scout around for qualified veterinary care.
Another instance was where a gal purchased a stud colt in an auction, knowing nothing about a zebra, and though it was super cute until it started getting bigger and more aggressive. I went to see it once, the people were not home, and the poor animal was in a pen with maneure everywhere telling me he hadn't been out of there for a loooong time. Ultimately they sent him back to the auction ring.
It irritates me greatly when people come on and simply say I want a zebra, without doing the appropriate homework to help them properly care for it, and are simply led to people who breed them.
I feel we, who have had experience raising a zebra, are here to help anyone interested in doing the same, by sharing all sides of the issue.
