Okay, please take this as tongue-in-cheek! Me thinks the Barcode name carries with it a bad omen. Corine Schmitz had the Grevy's stallion, Barcode, that she bought in Texas and moved to Virginia because she "didn't know" she couldn't do that without a permit. The fed jumped all over her, finally decided to let her keep Barcode but insisted he be castrated, since they didn't know his pedigree and he might accidentally inbreed with some distant relative. They had that done, there was a complication and he died. I don't think I would recommend Barcode as a zebra name. Seems like they get into big trouble. For the Corine's story:
