Professor Diamond replied to my inquiry as to the source for his statements in his book on the nature of zebras. He said he was told those things by someone on the staff of the Los Angeles zoo some 15 yrs ago. He didn't remember who. So it was at least someone who had been around zebras, presumebly. Did that make them an authority? Who can say. I would call that anecdotal evidence.
