That's too bad but I am not surprised. I'm afraid you are also going to be up against some horse bias snobbery, too. Maybe it is not as bad in the driving community but I know it will be bad elsewhere. Heaven forbid you should take him to a dressage competion! Besides, a well trained horse is supposed to ignore distractions like that funny smelling guy with the stripes. Afterall, Charlie is having to ignore a lot, too.
If you do take him and have him off to the side, why don't you have some still shots of him hitched up? That way you can get the curious onlookers to campaign to see him drive in person. So when the next event comes up, you'll have popular support.
