We seem to be on the right track because we are giving her alfalfa and I started keeping a little sweet feed with me to reward her if she walks well. Our sweet feed is 10%, she has been eating about two cups a day in between feedings. She nibbles on the hay.
She has started to pace in the stall in front of the gate, and we draped blankets over the gate so she does not hit her head. We are considering a companion as you suggested, My neighbor has a 2 year old palamino, or should we look for a young donkey? We just want the best for her , it does not matter to us. We are just here for this amazing experience. She is on Mares Match, and drinks 2 quarts, 4 times a day.
