I have never heard them referred to in any way differently than horses. The baby is a colt that can be a "horse" or "stud," or a "filly" if female. Of course, even that gets a little confusing, depending on who you hear talking. I have heard a number of horse people refer to a male baby as just a "colt" or a "filly" without any further distinction for males.
