I have not found him to be too pushy yet. The biggest "battle" we have had over respect is that he wants to go through doorways first instead of waiting for me to lead him. I make him halt, and I go in front then he can follow. We do this everyday, but unless I make him halt he will try to go first.
I was not the one who bottle raised him. He was bred/born at a petting zoo in Kansas. They have raised many exotic animals and seem to have a lot of experience with bottle raised zebras. They told me when they fed him they never gave him any attention.
I got him at about 3 1/2 months old and weaned him then. They already had him eating grain in the petting zoo.
I try to watch for signs of pushiness and stop it right away. I would like to keep him a stallion if his behavior will allow but I am prepared to geld him if I have to. He is very easy going now, I can pick up and trim his feet, saddle him, and I am also ground driving him.
