ysr speed? HELP!!!!

hi i have a 87 ysr that i have had for 6 years. i rebuilt the engine and did a totol restore over 2500 invested. if anyone can help me i cant seem to go over 45mph. i just bought 14 front and 44 rear sprockets and seems that with that gearing i can only go 45. any thoughts???
