I notice him about 8-9 years back. Starting with File of Justice serial 1, find this chubby looking guy very cute. I'm a super fans of FOJ series. 
I bought a tape of his cantonese album, 'jia shi you ri neng wang ji'hee.... that's the time where I really start getting crazy over him. 
At that time, not many people notice or know him... his earlier albums are so hard to find. I bought most of his ablums from Tower Records (Very expensive...imported) a few from HK during a visit. I remember that during 1997-98, his news is so hard to find here...even the net also. :/ That's why I come up with a web site specially dedicated to him (hee...closed down long time ago after his official site is up). I appreciate his vocal and his songs. I might not be as 'crazy' as before over him today, but will still continue supporting him and his songs. Maybe there are some more younger fans around? I'm getting older...haha Dun worry, I know of fans who are married and mid-age.
