No, I agree with you-- I think the XWF got bigger, and better-- but, what you expect? You can ONLY GO UP! You know?
I agree- the talent was stacked for you guys- following the end- of my era- as President. Benoit did a GREAT job, and I will not deny that. I seen a lot of names- added to the list... I saw a lot of original characters, and I was happy to see us expand.
I forgot- the Phan contacted you guys. I thought I found you on LordsofPain.net.. and- eventually- I thought I went in to BOW-- and recruited some of you guys. Maybe I'm wrong?? But, I thought - me, and my brother recruited Shotgun.
KEEP IN MIND-- regardless who recruited you guys... you SIGNED WITH US...
You WANTED to be a part of the XWF-- because, you saw something in us. We already HAD a solid roster-- and you guys- just gave us- that much needed- extra spark. From there-- NEW FEUDS, and NEW STARS were created, and I'm glad. That's how it's suppose to go. But, the early days.. I had to get the BEST OUT OF PEOPLE. Guys who didn't roleplay before, or didn't know how. When 9LP, and Shawn Taylor first started-- they weren't very good... I had a hand- in them turning their careers around. I will- take a lot of pride- in that. Because, those 2-- besides Jesse Jones/John Studd, Jack Tanner/Tommy Ravnos/Blood Brothers, The Phan/Guerillas, War Machine, Xavier Summers, and Mars.. .made- us- who- we were. It gave us guys- with a story... with a past. Guys who started at the bottom, and legitimately WORKED THEIR WAY to the top.
I'll never know what the Chesney Clausen era was like. I never got to see how Chris Falkenyorker ran things-- or how well, the Phan did. I was in- and out... I joined a couple times, and tried to catch on with the roster-- without you guys knowning... but, you seemed to have your STORYLINES in place. You- might not admit it-- but, you FAVORED certain guys, and certain groups... just- like I did.
But, hey.. lets agree.. that it's been GREAT.
Every era- has something special about it, and - even the Summer of 2008- had it's moments. I wish I had more shows-- because, we had a lot of GIMMICK matches. I just- wish- we could've had more time. But, yeah.. from 2003-2006.. things were out-of-my-hands, and they were STILL GOING FORWARD! I'm glad- you all- kept this place alive, and kept it competitive. That's the thing... you MUST have competition. You MUST have a worthy WORLD CHAMPION, and a solid- roster.. surrounding him. Because, at any point.. the tide can turn.... someone could quit, and disappear.. someone could step their game up... you never know.. when it comes to roleplaying....
But, THANK YOU ALL- again. I love- what you did with the place, and I'm happy- you made it - your own. I'm trying to give it a proper closing, and I'll do my best. I hope you alL DO THE SAME. We only have a few more weeks- until the deadline.. and I - may- extend it.
