I get what everyone is saying, but I do believe Mike is seriously downplaying the post Benoit era. I completely understand why Mike respects and adores the original era and I respect the hell out of it. However, when The Elite debuted the XWF really hit a stride that is just extremely hard to describe. If you were there during that time, you would understand.
The programs between 8, Adkins, Shotgun, Rage, Clausen, York, Taylor, Jesse Jones, even Summers plus you had Mars on the outs and War Machine alongside Stephen Blood adding veteran names. True it was under Mike's era that the XWF became the XWF, but if it wasn't for The BOW Invasion the XWF would had never hit the peak it did. I mean, seriously, how lucky do you get when you scoop up 8, Adkins, Shotgun and York? Arguments can be made for all of them for the hall of fame, that's a pretty lucky one in a million catch right there.
The BOW invasion gave a second lease on life for the XWF and propelled it to heights it hadn't seen since perhaps the old school invasion. So while I agree with Mike, it is a pity he wasn't around to see how great the XWF would go on to continue to be.
