It is difficult, if not impossible to find such teachers! You have to kowtow, eat dirt, eat crap and you may not seek what you are looking for!
Please do not give up. An alternate is Kali, or Indonesian/Malaysian stick arts!
You can register at a local Beijing univsrsity or extension for quanshu and jianshu (wushu bascially) and you may be in the position to be introduced to well known exponents.
: Since I have been in China (Over 2.5
: years) I have been scouring China
: for weapons-based arts and searching
: on Chinese search engines for this,
: but have turned up no results (For
: combat effective sword/spear/stick
: arts).
:
: I was hoping that some of you on
: here, perhaps being more
: experienced, could shed some light
: on this matter. I have been told by
: many Chinese martial arts teachers
: that weapons-based arts were lost
: after being banned when new China
: was created. Though I imagine this
: could be true, I nontheless refuse
: to give up hope so easily. I am most
: interested in stick (and/or staff)
: fighting. Thank you for your time.
