Another request for Chinese weapons-based arts

Since I have been in China (Over 2.5 years) I have been scouring China for weapons-based arts and searching on Chinese search engines for this, but have turned up no results (For combat effective sword/spear/stick arts).
I was hoping that some of you on here, perhaps being more experienced, could shed some light on this matter. I have been told by many Chinese martial arts teachers that weapons-based arts were lost after being banned when new China was created. Though I imagine this could be true, I nontheless refuse to give up hope so easily. I am most interested in stick (and/or staff) fighting. Thank you for your time.
