Posted by Jarek Szymanski The system is based on straight line practice of single movements. There are seven basic movements (Big Postures - Da Shi), and each can be developed into seven supplementary postures. Recently a set of instructional VCDs on Qi Shi has been released in China. You can find more information about the system here (in Chinese): http://www.cn-wu.com/bbs/read.php?tid=123672 Jarek --Previous Message--

Qi Shi Quan (Seven Postures) is one of martial arts practiced by Chinese Hui moslems. Unlike Cha Quan and Xinyi Liuhe Quan, it is a rather obscure system that has not gained much popularity over the years. Kaifeng and Zhoukou in Henan Province are the areas that have the largest communities of Qi Shi Quan practitioners. Many XYLHQ practitioners in Shanghai also know Tangping Qi Shi - the system was taught here by late master Guo Wenzhi.
