By all means fly!! And look into the low fare carriers that don't route you thru hub airports. I've flown Southwest a number of times and have been very satisfied with them-and they've got some awesome internet specials if you're flexible and willing to travel midweek. Spirit was very basic but efficient, Jet Blue is awesome-love that DirecTV! And Air Tran is okay if you don't have to go thru Atlanta.
