Pete I tried to email you a response, it kicked back so i'll post here.....
Also, being Yankee haters......we were so happy to see the Marlins win the 2003 Series![]()
About Dolphins Stadium, I'd say the name pretty much sums it up. It is a football stadium and not a baseball park.
It was built for the Fins and then later renovated to squeeze a baseball field into, unlike most multipurpose venues designed for both sports(most not very well either).
I'm certain(from postseason experiences of our own) that it must have been a FANTASTIC place to be and a total antithesis to what we experienced that night we were there, but that's what we have to go on, and really....does that venue have days more like our visit, or a postseason atmosphere? Does any?
We gave RFK such a nice rating because 1. We're beginning to appreciate the older venues more than we used to(whereas we used to enjoy thoroughly the newer sparkling venues, I think we've had it up to here with them), though the ratings don't reflect that....yet. 2. Even though RFK is a multipurpose venue, the sightlines and architecture are such that the venue was CLEARLY designed for baseball first and football second.
Dolphins Stadium is the reverse.
Does this rule out a second visit, heck no, we're fans and a day at the ballpark is always a good one. Even if we don't think highly of the venue .
The unique dimensions are cool, but it's just one more reminder of how they tried to wedge a ballpark into a football stadium.
You bring up some solid points, but I don't see the rating changing, not to worry though....everyone sees a place differently and this site is just how we see things, to each their own![]()
Thanks,
