In the section on Edison Intenational Field of Anaheim (The Big Ed) you guys questioned why Gene Autry had #26 retired. In the late 80's a group of players wnated to honor him and they voted him their 26th man to the 25 man roster. The idea took off and people started showing up at games with jerseys that said Autry #26. The team retired the number in honor of Gene. The fans loved it and so did the players. gene was one of the lats of the owners who loved th game and was loved by all. We (Angels fans) miss "The Cowboy" and we know that somewhere up in the big ranch in the sky, he is smiling because his Angels are finally World Champs.
