lowell reversible ratchet wrench

I have a Lowell ratchet wrench patent # 1798194 July 27 1929 .It has stamped on it no 2 1/2 steel R2. this thing is a monster weighing 30 lbs and 50 inches long. Does anyone know what this ratchet was used for or what it is worth? any info would be apreciated.
