Posted by bravecaptain's spin doctor on 11/24/2003, 4:22 am Formerly the inexhaustibly creative pop master of The Boo Radleys, bravecaptain sees Martin Carr breaking new ground in electronica -- mixing mischievously heavy electro-shock beats against delicate melodies, balanced with a lyrical rage against the politics of our current time. The EP is music I recorded over a year ago, Carr explains but was never released for various reasons so we decided to release it to coincide with my twin brothers 35th birthday. His forthcoming album, due to be released in early 2004, is the follow up to 2002s critically lauded Advertisements For Myself, his 3rd solo album since The Boo Radleys split in 1999. Showcasing Carrs vast musical ambition and furthering his direction into the electronic realm, Advertisements For Myself captured the essence of a lifetime of musical influences, smashed it all to bits and reworked it into a sound steadfastly his own. Im still looking for that same sound Ive always looked for and every batch of music I make takes me a little closer, says Carr. The songs and sounds Im currently working on for the next album shows how much my love of music has been rejuvenated. Tracklisting is as follows: 1. I Pledge Resistance To The Flag bravecaptain will be DJing of Boobytrap Records Christmas Show on 6th December at Clwb Ifor Bach in Cardiff. Dates for 2004 to be announced.
