pity that. But it seems my taste can not be trusted. Just got todays NME with the top fifty albums of the year list. Only two of my top five, if i had to choose, the mark lanegan and the Fugazi actually appeared. The others, the pernice brothers, the avalanches, and the arnold album all completely failed to appear. So, I guess you can't trust my taste afterall. Having said that, they did put the strokes at number one, so I don't know whose taste is worst (It's not bad - but it's not really album of the year material.).
: Bought the Hives album that's on
: Poptones. Only one good track on it
: though.
: Melz.

: Yes, I know, it's basically me just
: jabbering away again, but I thought
: that I should point out that
: Poptones, according to last weeks
: NME is in financial trouble. People;
: rememebr that this label is from the
: guy that had faith in the Boo's in
: the first place (God bless you,
: Alan). This is such a shame -
: especially as the Ken Stringfellow
: (Posies) solo album, the Arnold
: album (They recently supported Big
: Star - now there's a
: recommendation), and the Cosmic
: Rough Riders L.P are all more than
: worthy of investigation. Now I know
: that going on about this on a site
: that currently only seems to be
: being used by three people is a bit
: pointless, but it would be a real
: shame for Poptones to close down.
: So, you know, ask around see what
: other people think of the above
: records, and maybe you might pick
: one of them up, if the mood takes
: you.
