Admirers of Woolrich who live in or near New York---or anywhere else, for that matter---are invited to attend "Cornell Woolrich: Centenary Reflections," a program marking the 100th anniversary of Woolrich's birth. It will be held on Friday, December 5, between 2:00 and 5:00 P.M., at the Mercantile Library of New York, 17 East 47th Street, New York, NY 10017. Speakers will include William Nadel (on Woolrich as a new York writer), Otto Penzler (on Woolrich as a collectible author), Barry Malzberg (on the Woolrich he knew), and myself. Professor William Luhr, author of RAYMOND CHANDLER AND FILM, will present a program of great scenes from Woolrich-based movies. Adavnce copies of my forthcoming Woolrich centenary collection NIGHT AND FEAR are expected to be available for purchase at the event. Admission is free, but reservations are required.
