Posted by AmethystEyez on November 6, 2005, 1:57 pm, in reply to "+Sinister+" AmethystEyez had kept her place near Li-Kumiko's side, waiting for the female to awaken, yet she knew she could spare little more time on the matter. Soon, regardless of whether the younger female regained consciousness or not, the silver wolf would need to depart...for she had yet to attend to her son. Indeed, she would have needed to depart much sooner, had ForestAngel somehow not managed to stumble across her back in the packlands. The faintest of smiles crossed the silver wolf's lips at the thought of the look of surprise and wonder that had passed over the young Welsh green's face at finding her caretaker standing before her....standing as a flesh and blood creature, rather than as the misty phantom the dragon had known all her life. Their reunion had been pleasant, though AmethystEyez had sensed a slight withdrawal in the dragon...as if uncertain how to respond to the now living wolf. It did not matter...she would have time to adjust. Time, however, was something her son had precious little of. Only the strength of his spirit had allowed him to survive so far, and that strength was failing. The littered carpet of foilage spoke of the coming winter...a time of hardship she knew he would not survive in his current state. Yet the silver wolf was indebted to Kumi for her restoration, and felt bound to keep her safe until she awoke. It was a terrible predicament, until ForestAngel had volunteered to go and keep an eye upon her son. The dragon was now old enough to recognize the importance of keeping her presence concealed, and had vowed to report back if WindRacer seemed to weaken further. So, for the moment, AmethystEyez remained by Li-Kumiko's side, though Frollo could hardly have been blamed for not recognizing her presence. The wind carried her scent away from the male, and the few lingering grasses which waved in the breezes hid the wolf who lay upon the cold earth. When the clouds broke open, however, the grasses bent slightly beneath the water's weight, and the silver wolf rose to her feet. In the past, she might have sought shelter from the downpour...but not this time. Rather, she stepped forward, positioning her body to block most of the rain from Kumi's head, lifting her own muzzle skyward. Rain had never felt so wonderful, for each cold droplet brought sensation to her flesh...flesh which had, for so long, been absent from her. As the storm continued on, the silver wolf turned. Her purple gaze was leveled at Frollo, watching him in silence, wondering upon his intentions. She had caught faint whiffs of his scent around these lands....clearly, at one time or another, he had been a pack member. She wondered if he recognized that LZ had resumed his rightful place as alpha, or if he still bore allegiance to the previous leader. Or perhaps, he was loyal to neither, but intended to stake his own claim? That thought sobered the silver wolf, her lips tightening slightly as she regarded him.

The pack was not empty...not quite.
