A fox slunk to the top of a small rise, any number of which flanked the meadow of the Wind Gale territory. He paused, gathering his wits and his breath, for he'd been at a brisk pace from the hunting grounds, all the while rehearsing his story. Todd, like most of his vulpine kin, was a master of deception, and knew the secret to believability was sincerity. Not that he intended to be deceptive towards the alpha, other than the fact that the fox wasn't truly interested in joining a pack. He just wouldn't mention his true directive.
The fox smiled a bit and loped down the small hillock, his white-tipped bottlebrush tail waving amiably. He sniffed about the border, knowing that wolves commonly made themselves known by howling. Todd, not having this wolfly ability, decided to just raise his voice. "Hallo! Hallo! Anyone about?"
