It wasn't until Lone Zelda nudged her muzzle that she finally drew her attention back to her current surroundings, the scent of the candy he had brought forth only now being recognized by her nose. She could feel the warmth of the much larger male at her side, and though far less concerned about pride than her son was, was still reluctant and unhappily about proving a burden to LZ. Nonetheless, her hind limb was aching terribly, and the three paws she stood on were wearied and sore, her limbs trembling with the effort of keeping her upright, so she shifted herself slightly, leaning some of her weight against her alpha and friend. Lay down...no, she would not lay down...not here...not yet. But she did obdiently pick up a few mouthfuls of jellybeans...certainly not the most nutritious of foods, but food nonetheless, and chewed them as Lone Zelda asked his next question. He could not have choosen a more difficult question if he had tried. How was she to answer? Did she want him to go after WindRacer? A part of her...the part that was mother to the wolf hybrid...the part that would have done anything to keep her son safe, wanted to beg Lone Zelda to race after her son, to help him in whatever way the older male could, even if it meant simply guarding him from the shadows. But this was foolishness, for she knew that, not only would WindRacer more than likely object to any attempt to aid him, he would also likely be furious if he caught wind of such 'babysitting'. Besides, the more rational side knew she could not ask Lone Zelda to head off after her offspring anyway. She was in little shape to be much use to anyone, and though things seemed to have quieted down, and it appeared the war was over, neither the injured Toric nor the departed Redd_Wolf, both of whom knew Lestat, had confirmed such. To send the alpha of Wind Gale off in search of WindRacer would be foolish, and leave the pack far too vulnerable. No, she couldn't send Lone Zelda after her son, despite the fear in her heart for WindRacer's well-being, and the logical arguements regarding her offspring's likely refusal of aid and the need to keep Wind Gale defended aided her in avoiding considering any other motivations for not sending LZ away. She was aching, and tired, and yes, on some selfish level that she would have ignored had she thought sending Lone Zelda after her son would have accomplished anything, she wanted the large male with her. His presence was a reassuring warmth in her exhausted state. Swallowing the jellybeans in her mouth, she glanced to LZ. His question was only partly answered by her tired voice. "Help me back to the pack, LZ, and then I'll rest." She said quietly, picking up the last of the jellybeans he had created before leaning a bit more against the support he provided.

Nor did she realize that he had conjured food...or, at least, something that passed for food...before her. No, the only thing she was aware of was the danger her son was heading off to face, alone and injured, and that she could do nothing to stop him.
