WindRacer, for his part, was even less pleased to see that, not only had his mother shown up and to his mind looking far weaker than the wolf-dog himself did, but a moment later the pack alpha also appeared. Watching as LZ landed and took a place at his mother's side, the wolf-dog growled, his fur bristling. Accepting help from family was one thing...but this...? Certainly, WindRacer knew that had Lone Zelda not tagged along, it was very likely that both he and his mother would have ended up meals in the dragon's belly, but that didn't make the taste of swallowing his pride any less bitter. He had spent the greater part of a year almost totally dependent on the help of others to survive, and he was tired of it. AmethystEyez however, was very grateful to find that Lone Zelda had followed her, though concerned about what might happen in the pack while the pair of them were distracted by this matter. Was Toric alright? What if this was simply a diversion to allow Lestat's troops to move in? Still, the dragon before them was an immediate enough of a problem that she couldn't spend much time worrying on other matters. AmethystEyez studied the dragon as she turned, watching her with narrowed purple eyes. There was something about the dragon that seemed...odd...almost familiar...but the silver wolf couldn't quite put her finger on it. Then again, in her wearied state of mind, it was possible that her imagination was simply playing tricks on her. It was difficult to say. WindRacer snarled violently as the dragon looked back to him, his muscles knotted tightly despite the dizziness that once washed over him. Rage lit in the purple depths of his eyes at her words, and his snarl was as much for his mother and Lone Zelda as for the dragon. "I am not a coward!." He spat out, for of all the insults the beast could have thrown at him, she had choosen the one that hurt him the most. "I didn't call them and you know it." WindRacer didn't know why his mother and Lone Zelda had come, at least, not immediately, but as he took an angry step toward the dragon, several droplets of blood once more splattered upon the snow, and he realized that must be the explanation for how they knew he was in trouble. AmethystEyez widened her eyes as her son took a step forward, for the moment fearing he was going to press an attack, but he moved no nearer the dragon. She listened to Lone Zelda threaten the large animal and once more felt a surge of gratitude for his presence and strength. She held her own tongue, saving her breath, until the dragon offered her own threat upon Lone Zelda's life. This brought a renewed growl to the silver wolf's throat, and she pulled herself together to strengthen her stance. "He is never alone, and if you try to take your vengence, you will pay dearly." She growled at the dragon's retreating back, and meant it. Lone Zelda was the alpha of a pack, and even if he was ever wandering without the company of the pack, they would be with him in spirit. She would be with him in spirit..and always would be. She may not have been able to offer him everything he deserved, but loyalty...that she had to give in spades.

It didn't matter that he didn't want her here...in fact, she had known he wouldn't have wanted her to come even before she knew what it was he was facing. WindRacer could be terribly stubborn that way.
