Normally, Lz would not be so threatening of pain to another. But it was when it affected someone close that he would do extremely violent things to insure their safety. No, Lz did not know WindRacer that well. But he knew Ammie cared for WindRacer very much, and he would protect anything she cared for. He found it odd that WindRacer did not go into the packlands for help...but there could be many reasons for that. Maybe he highly disliked this place, or maybe he didn't want Ammie to know that he was in peril. Maybe it was both. Either way, it was too late now. They were here, ready to take on the dragon. Three on one is not good odds, especially when blessings could get involved. His next words came in a bolt of snarles and barks, heavy and angry. "and you WILL leave WindRacer alone, and alive, or you will suffer death yourself." Oh yes, Lz was rather testy. The whole war thing had put him on edge, and he was in no mood to mess with a careless dragon. Or maybe he had been around Li-Kumiko too long.

The large wolf was close behind Ammie. He followed in the sky, but landed a few yards away. He then ran quickly to the side of Ammie. He was going to prevent her from fighting if at all possible. He knew she would fight to protect her son to the death, but if LZ could take some of those blows if not all of them, then he would take the chance in a heartbeat. He already knew she was exhausted, and in pain from her limb. LZ might also be more physically able to take on a dragon due to his much larger than normal size, even if Ammie was in full health. He had finally stopped growing, at least he thought, at the abnormal size of 4'6" around the shoulders. LZ snarled deeply, the low rumble accompanied by black raised hackles on his neck. Fangs were bared at the dragon as be spoke in his deep voice.
