She wondered how long it had taken him, if the thought that she might have something in mind had occurred to him a few days ago or if it had just hit him. She also wondered if he had meant to shock her with his query, surprise her by letting her know he had sniffed out her planning the way that he was trying to sniff out his sister’s whereabouts. If that was his intent then he had failed, it did not bother her at all that he knew. ShadowGaze had come to the same conclusion awhile ago, and she had freely offered a cleaned up version of her schemes to Iceborn, mainly because it was safer to let him think that he had some power over matters than to leave him to his own devices, which could get a bird killed. A half-truth here and there kept him mollified, and it kept Gaze busy trying to decide on whether or not his uncle could be trusted. It also kept the others in the dark. And there was no reason that the hawk saw to suggest that the same tactic could not be used on FrozenSoul. Heck, it might even be fun to see how things played out, Ravenshadow’s dispossessed love newly armed with a few scraps of knowledge and the things they might lead him to do. However, it could just over complicate things, meaning that she would have to work harder than was necessary for the same outcome. Then again, it could make things easier, too. Instead of having to dangle information in from of him she could simply say "go here" and "do this" and not have to worry if he were not doing exactly what she needed him to do. And, even better, she could discuss payment with him rather than having to guess. She was still considering the possibilities when she asked,"Do you think that you could play along?"

"Then again, sounding the alarm might suit my purposes just as well. It depends on what I have to gain."
