The black wolf took a few paces along the path his sister had walked, moving a slight distance further from the packlands, before halting abruptly. Lowering his haunches, he seated himself upon the earth, removing some of the weight from his thawing injured paw. But it was not the wound which had stopped him...it was the hawk's continued presence. He had no intention of allowing her to follow him on his hunt, so for the moment lingered where he was, ice blue eyes glaring up at the bird. Those eyes narrowed as she spoke once more, flashing with anger, even as he recognized that, as always, the flying featherbrain was simply provoking him. The admission that she knew where his sister was did not concern him...he could track the runt. That she had company was of some interest...but he could bide his time until she was alone...as he could bide his time with Youkou and her family. He ignored the tidbits of possible information Wraith dangled before him, narrowing his eyes further as he glared at the hawk with cold calculation. "And will telling me my sister's location fit into your little game, turkey?" He asked flatly, recalling the bird's easy deception back at the lake. She was playing at something...he suspected it then...he was sure of it now....though whether whatever she was orchestrating involved Ravenshadow's consent or not, he could not say. Nor was he certain that he couldn't work the hawk's plans to his advantage, gamely playing his role in her imaginings until such a time it served him not to.

It seemed that no matter where he went...from the peak of the mountains to these wind-swept plains that no member of Ravenshadow's immediate family had reason to trend upon, to his knowledge...some observer always trailed him. The turkey overhead...the fox from earlier...watching his movements as if expecting something...though he doubted they truly expected what exactly his intended actions were. And in watching him, they provided a constant reminder of what was no longer his...what had never been his to begin with. Annoying was too mild a word for what he thought of this persistant company.
