Everything is collectable if you are interested in collecting it. Arklow is the best known maker of willow pattern in Ireland. I don't know what (Eire) means after the word Arklow, but if that word is in the mark, it may be the name of the pattern rather than willow. Some marks on Arklow willow pattern have the name WILLOW, and some do not. The factory was in business from 1890 to the mid-1970s, producing dinnerware and tea wares. Many willow collectors have at least a piece or two of Arklow made willow. It would take time and determination to acquire enough to use. I show a 9 inch plate in my book and a tall jug that stands 5.75 inches high. I have a bowl that I use regularly as I like to mix and match the makers of willow that I use everyday.
