I have 2 blue willow dishes and am not sure if one is older than the other.
1) One dish is white/blue yet the white more beige when compared to the other plate. The blue pattern is a lighter blue than the other and the pattern detail is more defined than the other.
On the under rim, it sais STAFFORDSHIRE with a crown and then H&A and then ENGLAND. On the bottom of the plate there is a 14 stamped into it. Everything is very symmetrical in the design.
2) The 2nd dish is more white and dark blue. Some of the blue definitely seeped a bit into the white a little. The outer edges of the dish appear more scallopped than the first. The pattern around the inside of the dish of not symmetrical. THERE ARE NO markings on the back. On the front there appears to be an extra tree (looks like sunflowers) on the right middle).
So, I do not know if the 2nd dish is just a cheap knockoff OR older than the other dish.
Not sure if there is some marking embedded into the design or rim that I should look for that would indicate mfgr or date of mfgr.
ANY guidance or help someone could provide, I would appreciate it.
I can send pics if you like or helps.
Thanks so much,
Mariann
