I just saw an unusual manifestation of the willow pattern (or parts of the willow pattern). A "Romance of Blue Willow" figurine named "Rowena" is being offered by The Hamilton Collection. I saw the ad in the July-August issue of "Southern Lady" magazine. The 7 inch figure is dressed in a cobalt blue gown with a white bodice decorated with two willow birds. The front of the gown is pulled back with clips from the willow border, revealing a white dress underneath decorated all over with more willow birds. There is a section from the border that goes around the bottom. Rowena is carrying a blue umbrella and wears a large-brimmed hat with a huge bird figure sitting on it and a big puff of white feathers behind. You can see her on the website HamiltonCollection.com by searching Rowena. I'm not sure I would think of her wearing the willow pattern except that there is part of a willow plate shown in the ad. No -- I'm not ordering one!
