I am trying to replace a Blue Willow bowl for a friend - hers was broken in the last earthquake. While I can read the manufacturer's mark, I'm trying to date it, so that I can narrow down what I am looking for.
The bowl in question is made by Ridgways, and the mark has the "Semi-China" double diamond, with the words "ENGRAVED/1832/FOR/W. RIDGWAY & Co." around the diamond. "ENGLAND" is printed underneath, and the bow and quiver Ridgways mark is just to the upper left of the diamond (the back of the quiver is right above the "AVED" of the word "ENGRAVED" - they are almost touching).
I am guessing that the bowl is from the early 20th c, but I was not sure if the arrangement of the bow/quiver and diamond mark would point to a more specific date.
Also, the bowl is 6.25" across, and 1.5" deep ... if anyone knows if this particular style bowl has a specific name, I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks so much!
