The firm made more traditional patterns in the first half of the 20th century and began to make more modern wares in the 1950s -- after WW II. Without actual documentation, I would just make an educated guess that the date of production was probably 1934, and it might have been September (9th month). B may stand for the type of clay body used -- or perhaps which building at the factory -- there are any number of things it could pertain to.
