Hi Gina,
EIT stands for English Ironstone Tableware. The information found in "The Illustrated Encyclopedia of British Willow Ware" by Connie Rogers, lists the company was preceded by English Ironstone Pottery Ltd.(1970 to 1974). EIT was in business from 1974 to 1994.
