My name is Sandra Evans from Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, England. I am the author of a book published on 6.10.06 titled "The Biography of The Amazing Chang". 'The Amazing Chang'(real name Samuel Lewis Whittington-Wickes M.I.M.C.) was a world famous illusionist who was so inspired by the story of 'The Willow Pattern Plate, he constructed his stage act, including his props & back-cloth, personally hand painting each stage prop around the legend. He was famed for his bullet-catching act, the bullet allegedly passing through a Willow Pattern Plate in front of his face, catching the bullet in his teeth. I discovered he owned my 200 year-old former coach house for 40 years (1919 - 1960) by reading the deeds to my property. I then began a 4 year research of his life & successfully had my A4, 30 chapter , colour book , packed with posters & world memorabilia published in October 06. Author J.B.Priestley spent many vacations at my property as a personal guest of 'Chang' & was later inspired to write the novel 'Lost Empires' about a stage illusionist.
